It's child's play to rig a Sarin-filled artillery shell to explode and release the WMD without a tube to fire it through. Just ask all the US soldiers killed by IEDs manufactured from artillery shells in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I don't know what your major malfunction is, but Sarin and Mustard Gas work every time. They are quite difficult to neutralize safely. All that has to happen is for the agents to be delivered. There are plenty of ways to deliver the active ingredient without firing it through an artillery tube, a fact that seems to have escaped you.

As I said, watch "The Hurt Locker" sometime and imagine that each of those artillery rounds wired as IEDs were loaded with Sarin. An explosion is bad enough, but add a chemical weapon to the mix and the casualties are multiplied thousands of times.

If that's not an "immediate threat" I don't know what is.

Facts: Sarin was found in Iraq after Saddam refused 14 times to comply with WMD inspections he agreed to as part of the cease fire agreement, so hostilities were resumed. QED.

Now take an artillery round filled with Sarin and wire in a blasting cap to detonate the dispersion charge and set it off in your house. Bingo! Large cloud of highly toxic nerve gas blowing on the wind. Still think a corroded artillery round filled with Sarin isn't a WMD?
