Very happy to have a controlled and regulated number of immigrants, with no restrictions on race etc.

Not so certain about simply accepting total open slather for anyone who can manage an illegal arrival...

A couple of points ... Often, there is no "queue" people can join to leave their country. And often, even if there were a "queue", circumstances make departure urgent.

We get heaps of illegals here too. 90% of them arrive by aeroplane and simply stay on beyond their visas' expiry date. They are the lucky ones. Because they are mostly Caucasian, they are hard to pick out in a crowd as well. "Coloureds" are not so lucky. To start with, how do you apply for a visa while living in a country the government of which wants to gaol or kill you for one reason or another?
