The Palestinians are justified in bombing all Israeli "settlements", or as I like to call it "Jews only towns that expel Arabs from their own homes".

As for the suicide bombers, they kill themselves. What more do you want? As for the home made rockets of Hamas, they are aimed at the border areas where the Israelis are still over occupying portions of Gaza land, not to mention imprisoning all Gazans so they don't have outside contact. Israel has zero justification in attacking Gaza.

"Their own homes" - whose homes? The particular Palestinians that are throwing rocks, bombs and grenades? The homes of those Palestinians parents? their grandparents? Their great grandparents?

And whose land was it before the Palestinians moved in? Were they there since before mankind first evolved from some hominid ancestor? Or did they poach it from some other tribe of arabs?

What the fuck makes any specific patch of dirt "belong" to any one ethnic/religious/racial/national/fashion conscious group as opposed to any other? And what gives anybody the right to murder their fellow human beings because of that?



Run the clock back far enough and the Palestinians and Jews that you are talking about share common ancestors. EVERY FUCKING ONE OF THEM!

Whose homes? How about the homes of Arabs in Hebron (or were their homes), for example? If you take your blinders off, you will see time and again that Jews have expelled Arabs from their home homes and stole their land and water wells. Hebron is just but one of many in recent memory.

You blindly ignore the fact that Jews in Israel and the occupied territories relegate Arabs to second class citizens in an openly racist way that would make Hitler blush. You also blindly take the side of Jews by using the fallacy that nothing belongs to any one. Jerusalem's district prosecutor created an uproar on Thursday when he reduced the charges against a Jewish teen who allegedly stabbed an Arab to death last month.

The boy in the case is one of four minors who are charged with allegedly stabbing to death Hussam Rawidi, a 24-year-old Arab man, in Jerusalem last month.

"I oppose racism against Jews, and if someone from my village would have murdered a Jew in such a manner, I would have called for a severe punishment," Rawidi said on Thursday before the beginning of the trial. "I expect the State of Israel to act in the same manner when a Jew kills an Arab."

Actually, the fact is that the Jews in Israel are exceedingly polite and tolerant of Palestinian terrorism and warlike acts. They could have, and probably should have simply cleared every non-Jew out of Jewish territory won in the Arab-Israeli War and subsequent conquests and bombed the crap out of every settlement with in Kayusha rocket range every time a single rocket was fired over the border and been perfectly justified under the laws of war in doing so.

The response to a brutal murder was NOT carpet bombing of terrorist enclaves on the West Bank and in Gaza, as it could and should have been, it was simply to solidify Israel's right to the West Bank by building more settlements. Quite a measured and careful response, I'd say.

It doesn't help the discussion when you accuse my even-handed condemnation of both sides of the conflict of 'blindly ignoring' one side! Please tell me where in the sentence I have highlighted I ignore (blindly or otherwise) the actions of the Israelis?

And, to answer your question, if the Palestinian authorities eschew violence and take steps to distance themselves from those that promote it, progress can be made. It happened with Yasser Arafat - he achieved more by coming in from the cold than he ever did with guns and bombs. Sadly, the Palestinian people chose Hammas and open warfare after he died. This is a war that neither side is ever going to win. The only solution - to ALL of the problems in the region - is dialogue and a relaxation of tensions on both sides.

That might appear an inadequate solution to you. And it is. But, the fact is, NOTHING is going to get the Jews out of Israel. The only way forwards is to make the best of the situation, or else carry on living in a bombed-out slum. Poking tigers with sticks is just fucking pointless and dangerous.
