He's the deputy PM, or tea-boy. He gets to do stuff when Cameron can't be bothered. Leader of the liberal democrats, who've shamelessly sold every principle they ever had to get a whiff of Government. They put the Dem in the Con-Dem coalition.
K
I think.

Pre-election:
Post-election:
Nick Clegg, the Liberal Democrat Deputy Prime Minister, has admitted that he and his party broke a promise to voters over student tuition fees.
Standing in for David Cameron at Prime Minister’s Question Time, he conceded that he had “not been able to deliver the policy that we held in opposition” after abandoning a pledge to scrap university fees altogether.
Instead, the Liberal Democrats last week signed up to Coalition plans to allow institutions to charge up to £9,000 a year.

SHAME! SHAME! FUCKING SHAME!
What a monumental liar and con man. If they can drum Phil Woolas out of parliament for his mealy mouthed lies which affected a local campaign they should be able to drum Clegg out for duplicity on a national scale.

I absolutely agree. And he's not just a liar and con-man. He's now an impotent puppy belonging to Cameron, because the Liberals simply cannot afford an election. They would probably get hit so hard, they would cease to exist.
If he'd had a brain, he would have refused a coalition with either Labour or Tories, but the con-man was conned by another, David Cameron. He dangled the carrot of a cabinet post in front of his nose, and Clegg chased it like a brainless jackass.
What we have now is a purely conservative govornment, who only got about 35% of the vote.
While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.

I don't blame Cameron at all for his opportunism - I think it shows his canniness as a politician, but what in under of fuck was Clegg thinking about going in to that coalition? The Lib Dems will be completely wiped out at the next election - if the Tories' policies start to pay off and the nation starts to recover then Cameron will receive all the plaudits and the Tories will win a landslide at the expense of the Lib Dems. Likewise, if it all fucks up Labour will destroy the Lib Dems - the electorate expects the Tories to be brutal, but they will not forgive the Lib Dems for being complicit. The next election promises to be seriously polarised, with people moving further away from the centre which is the Lib Dems natural constituency. History will regard Clegg as one of the most disastrously misguided politicians of the modern era.

The weasel has managed to the fury of students by cancelling his planned trip to Oxford Uni this month. Apparently it was out of much 'reluctance' and due to unforeseen circumstances

He might yet make a difference, he's got a few years. He may well be biding his time, trying to keep the peace, until the Tories really kick off - at which point he can side with Labour and have Tories by the balls. But certainly, on first appearances, he does seem to have sold out.

But who on earth would side with the spineless little shit? It's supposed to be a coalition government, but it is just a tory government with some cock sucking wet libs hanging on.

Is that bastard of French blood?

“I wish no harm to any human being, but I, as one man, am going to exercise my freedom of speech. No human being on the face of the earth, no government is going to take from me my right to speak, my right to protest against wrong, my right to do everything that is for the benefit of mankind. I am not here, then, as the accused; I am here as the accuser of capitalism dripping with blood from head to foot.”
John Maclean (Scottish socialist) speech from the Dock 1918.

To be fair there are only a small percentage of Libdems. And who knows what the Tories might be getting up to if they hadn't had to make
any compromises.

I just don't want to start calling him names yet. If two years from now he's still done fuck all of value, then I'll agree with you.
