Well, I think its a waste of resources to put that guy away for 27 years in prison given the already crowded prison system. If I was the judge, I would have ordered him to pay back at least double (if not triple) the $27 million he defrauded, perhaps with a portion going to a financial fraud fund of the government. He would be bankrupted and I would also sentence him to 5-10 years hard labour in a work camp repaving roads in the middle of a desert somewhere.maiforpeace wrote:Rather poetic actually, particularly in light of the fact that the prosecution was seeking 25 years.Gawd wrote:
So was it appropriate?
I don't think it was too harsh, he also defrauded the government with his illegal alien activities.
Appropriate punishment for over $27 million of fraud?

Final solution for that one

Outside the ordered universe is that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity—the boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.

What is an appropriate punishment for committing over $27 million of financial fraud? What would you say is an appropriate prison sentence?

I think a bullet in the back of the head would suffice.

Warning: You will eventually be liquidated, if not by Comrade Yehzov, then by Comrade Beria.
