While partially agreeing I think that the Russians are fed up. Russia is at a fork in the road. It could follow Trump into this dream of controlling the world destroying the EU on the way which is the direction the mad Orange Scrotum is going or it could follow the old Dutch saying: "A good neighbour is better than a far flung friend" and trade with the EU.

He is what the Russians want. They have always had strong men as leaders mostly dictators of one sort or another. The thing is Putin does have a few brain cells.

He is not going to annex Georgia. My wife was there last year and they were not worried about Russia. They were already getting bundles of money from the EU for preparation to enter the EU.

I honestly do not think he will cause trouble. I have Moldovan acquaintances. What I get from them was exactly what my wife got. Information from these countries is always very coloured. The information in our papers is very one sided. The Eastern Europeans I meet which I admit is not hundreds all say one thing; your news is very biased. My next door neighbour is a Russian Ukrainian married to an English guy. She tries to follow what is going on back home but she complains at the quality of the reporting.
