The problem is that pakkis have diversified.

In the last thirty years it's become a forbidden word. Before that, it was commonplace in Britain. And Australia.
I remember Richie Benaud commenting that the pakkis have gone up for a catch, in an England vs Pakistan cricket match. And shops run by Asians were the pakki shops. Not a derogatory term. Just factual, like Tesco's.

Back then all moslems were referred to as pakkis.
Now you get Iraqi pakkis, Afghani pakkis, Iranian pakkis, you need a degree to keep up with it.

It was the skinheads in England that made the word abusive. They talked about going pakki bashing etc, and it was all over the papers for a few years, and the word gradually became recognised as a slur.
Mainly down to the press.

What I really meant is whether a particular subset of Muslims (e.g. but not necessarily Pakistanis) may have some additional cultural factors which make the behaviour more likely...

And having said that, it will still be only a particularly nasty minority of whatever group we designate that allow themselves to behave in that way - it is clearly not an automatic group feature...

A quote from one the the Newcastle 'gang'. if you want to know a bit more about them, there's a brief profile of each one that gives some idea of what they got up to and their backgrounds. Some of the crimes include possession of drugs - it would seem for their own use as well as the 'girls'. One assumes they were mostly practicing Muslims (in the sense of going to Mosque). however we don't know of course how religious they may have been or for that matter whether they felt their religion allowed or even encouraged them to commit these offenses. My guess is that they all felt the girls were 'trash' because of their own cultural/religious backgrounds and didn't delve too deeply into the reasons why.

Some of those men seem to be harshly singled out.
The one Rum quoted, was actually just convicted of drug dealing, and his outburst was on a train, probably during a verbal confrontation, when people say things that are over the top.
Like drunken film stars who bang on about jews and such.

The first four didn't come across as conspirators forcing girls into prostitution. The first one fucked a drunken 15 year old. He got ten years. Seems harsh at first sight. Just months under age, and nothing mentioned about violence.

The second was a case of verbal abuse, and assault, as well as "allowing his premises to be used for drug use" during parties. Nothing particularly out of the ordinary. Again, 2 years seems harsh.

The third was misled by his "victim" who said she was 18 when she was 15. That's easily done, I fell for it myself many years ago. He did continue having sex with her after he found out she was 15. It's illegal, but not exactly abusive. Again his sentence was harsh.

Some of the others WERE pushing girls into prostitution, apparently, although judging by the first few cases, the girls might have already been at it before they got involved.
Some of these girls ARE sluts, and are literally anyone's for a few quid. That is a fact. Most of them don't need any encouragement to get onto crack, they're just too dumb to say no. And once they're on it, they will fuck anyone for twenty quid, just to get some more.

I'm willing to bet that a lot of these cases are just people being made an "example" of, rather than the horrendous story we are fed by the press.
