About me: Twoflower is the optimistic-but-naive tourist. He often runs into danger, being certain that nothing bad will happen to him since he is not involved. He also believes in the fundamental goodness of human nature and that all problems can be resolved, if all parties show good will and cooperate.

AMERICA!!! FUCK YEAH!!!!!
I'm wild just like a rock, a stone, a tree
And I'm free, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I flow, just like a brook, a stream, the rain
And I fly, just like a bird up in the sky
And I'll surely die, just like a flower plucked
And dragged away and thrown away
And then one day it turns to clay
It blows away, it finds a ray, it finds its way
And there it lays until the rain and sun
Then I breathe, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I grow, just like a baby breastfeeding
And it's beautiful, that's life

Gee, it would look so neat.
I vote for the M2 Browning.

Yes, but CH didn't have to resort to name calling and insults, did he. Don't flatter yourself Seth...any lurker who is reading your content on a regular basis knows the reason why you start up with your insults and vitriol is because it's starting to hit you close to home.

Indeed CH! The new rally cry for us hoplophobes will be "Puns, not Guns!!"

One can not legitmately extrapolate what we should do or what we should want or what we should think based on one's culture separate from the US.

We should be just what we are--what else is there?
I have heard those very same words from Muslims defending the situation of women in their countries, or more aberrant practices. If some other societies regard unanimously barbaric a regular situation in your nation, the sane thing to do it's -at least- to reconsider it carefully and defend it with logic or change the practice if you find reasons in the arguments. If you are serious about maintaining the "traditional and cultural value" of a law, then you disallow yourself to comment, criticise or demand the abolition of ablation, stoning to death to adulterers, child marriage or any other medieval barbaric law.

I don't get it... "hoplo-" as an affix cannot designate weapons.
The term designates a shield, therefore the hoplophobe is afraid of armor

weapon haters should be referred to as doriophobes (from the Hoplite pike), or maybe gladiophobe.

Sure you are. You are leeching off the capitalist system by living among the bourgeoisie elite in the financial district rather than being down there in the trenches with the working-class proletariat. You are enjoying the benefits of capitalism and free markets, things like police protection and capitalist-funded infrastructure and amenities and you're avoiding the consequences of socialism and Marxism, and you're a traitor to the revolution and a faux-Marxist who is failing to stand in solidarity with her Marxist brothers and sisters of the oppressed working class.

Castro would have you shot, and Che would shoot you himself...probably after he raped you a couple of times.
