It's Biden's fault that Trump does not have time for due process
Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump
How can Biden let Millions of Criminals into our Country, totally unchecked and unvetted, with no Legal authority to do so, yet I, in order to make up for this assault to our Nation, am expected to go through a lengthy Legal process, separately, for each and every Criminal Alien. As usual, TWO DIFFERENT STANDARDS, only leading to the Complete and Total Destruction of the U.S.A. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

Trump makes mistake. But Hegseth likely to lead attack on campus protestors (see Onion video)
Everyone in a Trump Cabinet operates on borrowed time. The phrase “serving at the pleasure of the president” feels particularly apt given the capricious nature of this commander in chief.

But firing Hegseth three months into a tenure that started with national security experts warning he was dangerously unprepared to lead the Pentagon would force an embarrassed Trump to admit he’d made a mistake.

And, critically, Hegseth has not yet committed the unpardonable transgression that led to the departure of two Trump first-term defense secretaries – trying to thwart the president. The first, retired Marine Gen. James Mattis, fought a long battle to rein in the president’s “America first” foreign policy instincts. The final straw came when Trump demanded the withdrawal of US troops from Syria. Another former defense secretary, Mark Esper, wrote his resignation letter months before a departure that was made inevitable when he publicly said he’d oppose the use of troops to quell domestic political protests.

Hegseth lashes out at America

Elsewhere:
The only surprising thing about another Hegseth signal chat leaking is that he was loyal enough to his third wife to include her.

Not speculative - the book in print, that Fauci could sue over.
Kennedy alleges that Fauci funded dangerous gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology through NIAID grants, knew about the potential lab origins of COVID-19, and orchestrated a cover-up by prompting the “Proximal Origin” paper to dismiss the lab-leak hypothesis as a conspiracy theory.
Quick summary of that part of the book. I saw the exchange where Fauci said he didn't do a gain of function and Paul said he did. It likely comes down to what 'gain of function' means to each of them.

Thing is, if Kennedy is lying about this, Fauci could ruin him. He keeps not doing it, over this bit of potential defamation, and the other accusations in Kennedy's book.
Yeah. Just as others here, I'm willing to exchange pleasantries but it comes down to what 'pleasantries' means to each of us. I can't say I'm pleased that you're suspended again, but neither will it trouble me that I'm not seeing your username in a block on the 'Active Topics' page. Also there'll be a lot less silly tripe like that quoted above.

Kennedy is a known chronic liar and fabulist with a focus and specialty in medical quackery. Lying about medical issues seems to be a compulsion he can't resist. Not to forget that he has no medical or scientific training to speak of. I wouldn't consider his opinion on how to put on a bandage credible, let alone an esoteric field like virology. It smacks of desperation to cite him as evidence against Fauci.

If Fauci were as litigious as the extremely fit and healthy president, he'd have a full time job. It seems obvious to me that he would have better things to do with his time than trudge in and out of courtrooms with his lawyers. Strange as it may sound, money isn't everything despite what oligarchs would have us believe.

Have a good couple of years--should you return and I'm still around, we'll talk again.

tariff bluff failed

demsmight
11h
Trump backing down on his tariffs.
Musk looking for a way out.
Tesla crumbling.
Republicans getting obliterated in special elections.
The courts overwhelming the Trump admin.
Some Democrats finally fighting back, traveling to El Salvador and amping the pressure.
And the protests keep coming.
We need to keep this energy. Keep building.

I don’t know. It seems like the democrats will always be vulnerable in a way the Republicans aren’t. They did their tea party thing and now except for a tiny minority of rhinos they’re bulletproof. The democrats still haven’t committed to anything like that vision, so when it counts they’ll be vulnerable to division in important elections eg Palestine.

Trump likes the King part of being President :zilla:

Signs a few executive orders surrounded by concerned parties, chats with them and is personable, then answers press questions.

Exactly what a President should be doing, of course some of you dislike some of the specifics
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

There is no 'King part' of the presidency, except in the minds of authoritarians.

The state attorney generals are already filing lawsuits against Trump and his departments. DOGE. The future will see the states defending individual residents against the feds. Using the US bill of rights and claiming ALL the other rights to states and their citizens. The trans athletes are just the first example.

Yes, and like a monarch he exists above everyone else and beyond the reach of the law his subjects have to obey.
