That's rather poor. Who is saying it was worse than 9/11? Just far-right fanboys looking to ramp up your level of emotional engagement. Oh the unfairness of being compared to mass slaughter. Oh the #OUTRAGE. Sure, the mob erected a gallows and chanted "Hang Mike Pense!", they overwhelmed the cops, put windows through, entered building, sought out representatives and smashed up offices, but getting to describe that as "gentle and casual" makes the fact that they were forcibly stopping the certificate of votes which, if successful, would have disenfranchised all Americans and kept the incumbent loser in office, well, it makes all that blow away on the wind. That the mob believed Trumps lies about election fraud on a massive scale doesn't make that any better though.

Sure, media outlets have their editorial biases when it comes to reporting what went on, just as the far-right Q-commentator does here. But let's not pretend the facts sit somewhere in the middle. Regardless of the words or images used to describe Jan 6, the mob tried to overturn a general election result by force, and that would have made more than a mockery of democracy in the US, it would have broken it completely - perhaps even permanently.

This is something that every voter should be concerned about regardless of their political leanings or preferences, because democratic governments derive their legitimacy from the voters, not from self-entitled idiots who believe they have a right to rule and are prepared to use forceful means to ignite the anger of a minority in order to ignore the will of the people and install themselves in power. The far-right, the Q's and the Q-adjacent might have genuinely believed that Trump had some divine right to rule, but the American people clearly thought otherwise. The biolab post was made on an anonymous account, warclandestine and Jacob AKA bioclandestine and warclandestine took credit for it on a couple of video podcasts. The ADL’s Center on Extremism identified Creech as the probable source, and he took credit as himself on the Alex Jones show. I watched that segment, and found the TikTok post on the bioclandestine account shared by another account.

Fact-checking this nonsense is a waste of time I fear. The far-right, the Qs and Q-adjacent have been primed to associate it with being talked down to, perhaps because too many people culturally associate ignorance with stupidity, but also because they occupy a totally different arena of discussion - one where personal reactions and intensity of feeling are more important or valued than facts.

It can take a bit of work to be ok with being wrong about something, anything, or disassociating ignorance from shame. But then again it can also take a bit of work to ignore being ignorant or wrong and then doubling down on it. Playing the victim is just one way of doing that.
