The guy had an entire wing of the Republican Party called "Never Trump" and two living Republican Presidents announced that they would not vote for the Republican candidate, because it was Trump, a recent Republican governor of California announced he would not vote for the Republican candidate, because he was Trump. John Kasich of Ohio did the same. The Republican mainstay publication, The Weekly Standard, was ardently "Never Trump," along with its famous editor in Chief, the Project for a New American Century guy - Bill Kristol (the "PNAC").

Like the neoconservative wing of the Republican Party said on the eve of Trump's election:

Come of it, man. A more absurd statement can hardly be imagined. The Republican Party laughed at Trump in 2015 when he announced his candidacy. Nobody could believe it as he knocked off candidate after candidate in the primaries. He had opposition from every side - not just the Democrats, whom you would expect, the Republican party itself. And you want to say they'll not turn on Trump? LOL. They didn't need to. They were against him from the beginnning.

And why won't they impeach him? Because hating the guy is not a reason for impeachment. You have to have a High Crime or Misdemeanor, as the Constitution says.
