GS - couple of hints. Don't cut the grass for a couple of weeks. Hang an old engine block from a tree limb. Fly a moth-eaten Confederate Flag with a picture of Lynyrd Skynyrd in the center. Make your Rottie more conspicuous, one way is to feed him live chickens in the front yard while yelling "Sic 'Em! Sic 'em good!" If they walk by, whistle loudly and say "man, when my boyfriend get out he gonna LOVE that ass child!"

This should dissuade them. If not then you've got lots of guns.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

You guys are funny.

You've been watching moronic films all your lives, where the good guys kill the bad guys and save the weak guys and simple mexican peasants, and end up riding off into the sunset with a beautiful girl.
It's no wonder you're all out of touch with reality.
If you'd been brought up watching films where pathetic nobodies get hold of guns, and shoot the good guys before they even knew they were there, from behind some bins, you might possibly get a glimpse of reality. Of course, reality never went down well in Hollywood.
Talk about living the fuckin dream !!
So after your earlier arguments in the thread fell flat, you resort to a bit of ad hominem. Sure is a strong position you've got there.

Elementary, Watson. You only had to ask.
And yet incredibly, I'm still alive and unharmed.
I also have about fifteen cousins living in the states, and have lived there myself. None of us has any weapons skills. Amazingly, we have all survived.

I know that. You slowly approach each other from opposite ends of the main street, with your hands dangling by your hips.
Then when you are 20 feet apart, you insult each other, and spit a bit, and then the good guy kills the bad guy.

I wish I was as clever as you are. That way, the next time that I miserably fail to make a coherent argument with facts to support it, I can gracefully switch to insinuating that my opponent takes his position because he's watched some movies, and surely they will see the error of their ways and capitulate to my superior wit and intelligence.

If that changes, my opinion might change. But if I'm arguing that there is something sadly wrong with gun lovers, I can't help but make that point honestly.

You must have forgotten to post those parts, then. :what:
And I can't show respect, if I don't feel it.
I'm not asking you to "show respect", because quite frankly, I don't give the tiniest little sliver of a fuck what you think about me. What WOULD be nice, is if you were able to make an argument that had facts to support it and wasn't entirely riddled with fallacy after fallacy.
All of the people I've met who have a thing about guns, have been sad people, with something clearly missing upstairs.
How many of those people have you met? I've had the opposite experience, in the time since I became a gun owner a couple years ago, every gun owner I've met and held a conversation with has been a decent, polite and respectful person through and through. There are several other people on this forum that one might say have a "thing" about guns, and from everything I've seen of them, they're good people too. And, not to toot my own horn, but I like to think I'm a pretty OK guy myself. Maybe those evil murder machines haven't been whispering in my ear loud enough yet. :hehe:

If that changes, my opinion might change. But if I'm arguing that there is something sadly wrong with gun lovers, I can't help but make that point honestly.

There's something sadly wrong with people who think they know what a person is like because that person owns guns. It's ignorant and presumptive to assume you know anything about a person based on so little.

Why thank you. I admire your sharp perceptibility to know me so well.
I am clearly missing something upstairs--irrational fears for inanimate objects, and the ability to know all about people from far away on the internet. I could do with that kind of skill, but seeing as how I have a thing for guns and I'm american I just don't have the intellectual equipment, alas.

I would have been here sooner but the voices kept telling me to pull over and clean the guns.

I think the movie argument is extremely valid.
Most my friends at school were extremely keen on guns and gunfighting, as was I. But most of us grew out of it by the age of ten.
That doesn't seem to happen in the US, and I point to Hollywood as a major part of the reason for that.

As well as movies, gunnies devour JT Edson books, and similar, and these were huge sellers in the states.
Obviously, a love of guns causes a love of violent movies and books, but it also works the other way as well.

It's all those pedestrians, you keep getting the call to clean your guns of bullets.
