Change we can believe in?...guess the more things change the more they stay the same. This guy is as much a religious wacko as every other religious nutjob.

President Barack Obama made a clear declaration of his Christian faith on Thursday and seemed to express some frustration that his beliefs continue to be called into question.

“Let me tell you, these past two years, they have deepened my faith,” Obama told a ballroom full of applauding believers at the annual National Prayer Breakfast in Washington.

Our struggle is not against actual corrupt individuals, but against those in power in general, against their authority, against the global order and the ideological mystification which sustains it.

Yea, fuck that. A lot of atheists like to claim that Obama is a closet atheist, but he's not. Bill Maher went on about that prayer business last night. Did you see the show? Neil Degrasse Tyson was on and there were a few funny moments, he's definitely a very personable scientist.

Yah, I think atheists would like to believe that obama isn't religious, at least "liberal" atheists. Not sure why, I guess because they don't want to believe that america is truly a christian run country, theocracy light...although after the recent "crusades" in the middle east perhaps "light" isn't the right term. No, haven't watched Maher yet, downloaded and will watch later on today...Saturday ritual...Maher and The Ricky Gervais show! Good viewing! Always hoping that Slavoj Žižek will appear on Maher some day, would be a great, interesting guest.

I wa saying this in 2008 and no one on the atheist sites would believe me.

At least you're from Canada so I guess you can say you didn't vote for him.

I never once questioned that he's religious, but he's clearly less likely than his opposition to enact stupid-to-dangerous policy based on that.
Who needs a signature anyway?

His health care plan will eventually ban most health insurance from covering abortions. Not sure McCain could have pulled that off.

I bet McCain wouldn't have been stupid enough to triple U.S. troops in Afghanistan, either.

Not that I think McCain would have done a good job, mind - he was about the worst of the serious Republican candidates.

Slavoj isn't that good a public speaker.

he might be a better talk show guest

He's so hyper and fidgety in public I swear he's on something.

I would like to see more of gervais :coffee:

I've attended his long talks, over two hours

seriously, he didn't say anything a keen observer of society wouldn't have already seen

Like any whore politician, he is all things to all men...

However, America could easily have a much more seriously deluded one in future, a real true believer...

You sure?

"We ain't a sharp species. We kill each other over arguments about what happens when you die, then fail to see the fucking irony in that."

Thats ludicrous...maybe if keen observer equals one of the most brilliant philosophers of our time. You must be joking, I've been reading his books for the last year, all fascinating. That's one very keen observer  Great video above BTW FBM.
