What a strange story, It's sad when religion brainwashes people, but really sad when an oppressors religion takes over aboriginal communities.

Our struggle is not against actual corrupt individuals, but against those in power in general, against their authority, against the global order and the ideological mystification which sustains it.

It's a strange story today, but a familiar one over the ages.
It's something we've inherited from our ape ancestors, who probably made a change to living in tribe-sized groups about six to eight million years ago. Once you live in large troops, with many adult males, you demand alliegance to the group, rather than one dominant male. So the urge to "fit in" is extremely strong. We naturally take sides, and jostle for supremacy, because these groups often used to split, and you'd better choose the winning side, or you would be kicked out, with little chance of survival without territory.
So it's not surprising that anybody who forms a subgroup, with a cultural difference, will be seen as a threat.
That guy said it was frightening his kids. It was actually frightening him, because of his territorial-ape ancestry.
