In the UK we just get Nick Clegg delivering a monologue to camera while Brian Eno tinkers away in the background.

We had an entire show dedicated to deconstructing political advertising.
A government-funded show.

I like our country a little more.

Okay, it's not real, but it's true :pardon:
When I feel sad, I stop being sad and be awesome instead.
True story.

Dear good all seeing being; my way or the highway Yahweh,
The blue-balled anti-masturbator, the great all-loving faggot-hater
I thank your holy might, for making me both rich and white"

Seems like the only political advertisements Republicans are capable of is putting down the other guy.

Here in CA all of Meg Whitman's advertising has been a Jerry Brown smear campaign. Then there's her smirky smile which is as bad, if not worse than GB's is.

What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."
