King Solomon's Wall Found—Proof of Bible Tale?

Post by goodboyCerberus » Sun Feb 28, 2010 7:41 am

"A 3,000-year-old defensive wall might be unprecedented archaeological support for a Bible passage on King Solomon": http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news ... lem-bible/
1 Solomon made an alliance with Pharaoh king of Egypt and married his daughter. He brought her to the City of David until he finished building his palace and the temple of the LORD, and the wall around Jerusalem.
 And if you read 1 Kings 3, the next part is where Solomon makes 1,000 animal sacrifices. So, God comes to Solomon in a dream (a dream!) to offer him anything he wants, which turns out to be wisdom.
11 So God said to him, "Since you have asked for this and not for long life or wealth for yourself, nor have asked for the death of your enemies but for discernment in administering justice, 12 I will do what you have asked. I will give you a wise and discerning heart, so that there will never have been anyone like you, nor will there ever be. 13 Moreover, I will give you what you have not asked for—both riches and honor—so that in your lifetime you will have no equal among kings. 14 And if you walk in my ways and obey my statutes and commands as David your father did, I will give you a long life." 15 Then Solomon awoke—and he realized it had been a dream.
"I will give you a wise and discerning heart, so that there will never have been anyone like you, nor will there ever be. Except Jesus, lol."

About me: If I had my way I'd buy a few acres of land and an old tractor. I'd drive the old tractor around the land and passers-by would stop to ask me what kind of crop I was farming. "Crop?" I'd say, "Crops are work, I'm planting ideas."

"A 3,000-year-old defensive wall might be unprecedented archaeological support for a Bible passage on King Solomon":
And the old newspapers I found in the wall when we were renovating prove that Lois Lane lived in this very house. What else could it mean?

No further scientific validation necessary then!

So there is proof that 3000 years ago people built defensive walls around their cities...but what does this have to do with the Bible? It takes some pretty serious mental gymnastics to get from 3000 year old wall to all powerful invisible man in the sky listening to your every thought and watching your every move. I would love to see the artistry slowed down and spelled out for us...maybe a play-by-play of how the one proves the other.

Disappointing, to be quite honest.

Bring me the body of the baby that Solomon wanted to chop up, then I might consider the bible to be worth something more than emergency toliet paper...

I hear they have located the foundations of the Old Cataract Hotel in Aswan Egypt, indeed the Old Cataract Hotel itself is still there even... so I guess this proves that Agatha Christie's "Death On The Nile" was a true story just like Solomon's Wall proves the Bible story was also true. :hehe:

So....

King Solomon's wall, eh?
Well, I guess someone will soon post a picture of the part of the wall where it says "I, King Solomon, built this wall in year XXXX". Otherwise, it's just another wall...
