Censorship & propaganda in the media & the net

As if events & legislation over the past few years were not enough evidence, now we have yet more:
The very closure of RDF provides more evidence of ulterior motives & actions behind the scenes. The actual reasons never expounded, and if stumbled upon; denied.
It is widely known and well advertised, by members & mods of RDF, as to why & how RDF was locked down and thousands of files of several members trashed. Now here's the further evidence of malevolent intent by the authorities:
The mass media are reporting the very opposite of what hundreds of RDF members & mods have broadcast. Papers such as The Times, The Guardian, & The Observer, have published that Dawkins himself made a gentle announcement, that the members & mods then reacted hysterically with abuse & threats, that in order to snip the virulent reaction, the forum was locked down for 30 days, and that any posts deleted were simply empty vitriol of no value.
Now, I put it to you that the disinformation propagated by the above 3 papers (& other media) is not mere accident: It is conscious, deliberate misinformation to fulfill an agenda that we are not privy to, and probably the journalists don't even know about.
People right around the world now read the official media and think "how wonderful that another band of anarchists has been brought to heel". And if/when we tell them the facts, they react with derision & disgust about how filthy anarchists can never accept the true dogma that poor, gentle Richard Dawkins was sooo badly treated by his erstwhile supporters. After all, why would the media lie?
That's how propaganda works: Control the media, but give us enough rope to hang ourselves! :coffee:

Hey loony toons,

You mean these?:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree ... n-comments

:hehe: @ 'schism' & Hugh's Goebbels comment being taken as 'hysterical'..

Its hard for them to know whats actually going on, and a bias against 'the ranters' is easy to make if you don't really know the details of what happened or what was involved with the community itself; many people automatically think internet discussion is small time and childish. Most of these internet articles of 'media' you see written are by random schlubs who have no real clue or have done no reseach into their topics.
