Popish twattery and Irish kids

Post by Rum » Tue Feb 16, 2010 6:03 pm

So the pope has told us that moletsing children is a haenous crime...doh..

Also in his statement it would appear that part of the responsibility lies with all of us and a general decline in faith. The quote (from the Times Online) is:-

The Pope had also "pointed to the more general crisis of faith affecting the Church", the Vatican said, linkng it to "lack of respect for the human person". This "weakening of faith" had been "a significant contributing factor in the phenomenon of the sexual abuse of minors."

Fuckwit.

Odd how much of the most serious abuse happened during the days when almost everyone was a staunch Catholic, and only came to light once people stopped being so religious. :ddpan:

He [The Pope] had stressed the need for "improved human, spiritual, academic and pastoral preparation both of candidates for the priesthood and religious life and of those already ordained and professed." Lent was to be used in Ireland as "a time for imploring an outpouring of God’s mercy and the Holy Spirit’s gifts of holiness and strength upon the Church".
Let's all give up Twixes for a month. That'll sort the child rapists out.

Why does Blackadder come to mind when reading that?
