Nuke Attack Boat USS La Jolla Skipper Fired...

HONOLULU — The commander of the nuclear attack submarine USS La Jolla based at Pearl Harbor was relieved of his post Friday “due to a loss of confidence in his ability to command,” the U.S. Pacific Fleet submarine force said...

Recently a British and a French nuclear submarine pranged each other in the Atlantic and didn't know, thought they'd hit some debris.

Aye, I expect you are right. Thinking about it, a nuclear sub captain, experienced at being submerged for months at a time, would be a good candidate for a manned Mars mission.
