So, it’s dysfunctional. Lie about having approval and send the food. What are they going to do, go to court for the right to starve kids? —okay, that’s a good look
The latest fad is a poverty social. Every woman must wear calico,
and every man his old clothes. In addition each is fined 25 cents if
he or she does not have a patch on his or her clothing. If these
parties become a regular thing, says an exchange, won't there be
a good chance for newspaper men to shine?

Immigration: The U.S. resumed deporting migrants to countries other than their own, sending five people to Eswatini, in southern Africa. The Supreme Court cleared the practice.
Can we get some reporting by our local correspondent?

Elsewhere:
The Epstein stuff is very strange indeed. Before the election, Trump was saying he'd gladly release it (but not right now, hinting that a redacted version full of Democrats might come forth). Now he's saying it doesn't exist, and at the same time that it does but that it's faked by Democrats. So now he can't show one that's full of Democrats, but seems to be preparing for one that's full of Republicans. So I keep wondering what, if anything, is actually in there. He doesn't seem to be able to keep his stories straight. Trump made a pretty convincing case earlier on of having fallen out with Epstein in the early 2000's, so I wonder who is in there. Supreme Court justices, prominent donors, influential congressmen? Or is there a little hint that Trump and Epstein fell out because Trump went too far even for him, or a crossed out name on the list annotated with "that self-aggrandizing impotent wanker?"

It won't go away. There are photos. There were photos in 2016.

Just the legs? Not the brain?
"White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters that Trump recently underwent testing to investigate the swelling — including diagnostic vascular studies and an ultrasound of his legs — which revealed he has chronic venous insufficiency."

This sort of stuff did not work in 2016. It was nothing but "her emails."
The Democratic National Committee has launched a new X account dedicated solely to reminding its followers that Trump has not released the Epstein files. Party leaders have wadded into the “manosphere,” going on Trump-curious shows like Andrew Schulz’s Flagrant and talking with MAGA-aligned internet personalities such as Tim Pool. They’ve forced Republicans into uncomfortable votes aimed at releasing the Epstein documents and have relentlessly posted on social media about the convicted sex offender.

It’s a remarkable change of posture for Democrats, many of whom, just a few years ago, bristled at the idea of engaging on Epstein-related questions—deeming them trollish conspiracies beneath the dignity of their office. And while much of the party’s sudden eagerness to now talk about Epstein is driven by a desire to make Trump and the GOP squirm—and, frankly, by the legitimate questions that Trump’s erratic response to the saga have raised—there is also a larger shift taking place that’s worth noting.

Democrats are beginning to understand the dimensions and demands of the attention economy, in which the real currency in politics is not message discipline but message dominance. It’s a noticeable shift from just a year ago, when there were real, internal debates in the party over whether leaders should engage on certain issues or put themselves in uncomfortable, heterodox media environments.
