Wow, I didn't know anywhere like that still existed. They have an entirely separate language so it would almost impossible to communicate even if they did let outsiders live long enough to try.

Drones. That's what you need to use if you want to learn about them. Drones with GoPros that can sneak in and film them without them knowing so you wouldn't even have the problem of outsiders corrupting their culture. Not sure on the ethics of that, but since they refuse contact and presumably eventually will die out, it would be worth learning what we can when we can. It would be fascinating to get an understanding of their world-view. Do they see visitors as strange aliens? Do they have some cultural memory of the existence of other lands? What would they think if Space X landed and Falcon 9 on their island?
