Zuckerberg is not interested in social control as such. He is interested in making money out of demographic statistics. Each Facebook account holder provides it. Zuckerberg then sells the information on to whoever wants to use it for whatever purpose they choose. Knowing the identity of each individual is not necessary. The shenanigans perpetrated by Cambridge Analytica make it perfectly obvious that knowing a facebook account holder by name, address or any other uniquely identifiable factor is not a prerequisite for achieving a desired objective.

I don't know HOW zuckezrberg is interested in social control, but the fact that FB has guidlines about what kinds of postes and pictures are acceptable or not, means that it IS exerting social control.

Yes, of course keeping the content milque toast is social control, but it is not social control for its own sake. Zuckerberg figures that the more main-stream the format is, the more people keep Facebook accounts, and the more Facebook accounts there are, the more data he has to sell.

It's all about Facebook's profit. My bet is that if Zuckerberg saw more profit in catering to the fascists he'd permit his place being flooded with Stormfront style material, and if he saw more money in porn, it would be a showcase for tits, cunts and cocks.
