This Leninist phrase is unfamiliar to the general public, and this is very sad. Otherwise, the spears would not have broken about the special "Leninist style" in relations with people and the "Leninist handwriting" in governing the country. The leader of people did not like people, never worked and did not know what a real economy is.

I did that. It's a total waste of time. Someone ought to let Leonid Mlechin know that the war against the Soviet regime is over -- and ask him to please stop his outrageous quote mining. Inventing quotes is also generally frowned upon. Providing facts that can be checked, on the other hand, is commendable. He should try that one day.DRSB wrote:Google-translate the whole article, if you feel like it: https://www.kommersant.ru/doc/3460260?from=vybor"Idleness and solitude are best for me." Lenin

It's about the 100 years mark being a good moment to look at history for lesson, false quoting being one of them. Lenin is someone who has misquoted and distorted many things himself.Hermit wrote:I did that. It's a total waste of time. Re: 100 years October jubilee
So was the Russian revolution a good or bad thing?
I think it was good, on the whole, communism was no worse than serfdom, and the country was reasonably united when it came to fighting Hitler.
What happened after was down to Stalin, and could have happened with any political system.
Germany produced Hitler. Russia produced Stalin. Different systems with the same outcome.

While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.

Mlechin diatribe is not suitable for drawing history lessons. It may be good for detecting mined quotes, but in that case it's in the wrong thread.DRSB wrote:It's about the 100 years mark being a good moment to look at history for lesson, false quoting being one of them.Hermit wrote:I did that. Probably, but I suggest you leave the tu quoques to our resident experts.DRSB wrote:Lenin is someone who has misquoted and distorted many things himself.

The names are irrelevant to the practice. It should not be difficult for you to identify our chief quoquette anyway, so I'll leave it at that.DRSB wrote:And those are?Hermit wrote:Probably, but I suggest you leave the tu quoques to our resident experts.DRSB wrote:Lenin is someone who has misquoted and distorted many things himself.

Wait a second, glorifying Communism is ILLEGAL in the EU nation of Poland.

A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.
