This is an interesting dispute. Though I found some sources that agree with NineBerry's approach to terminology, the more prevalent convention seems to be that used by pErvin. In one article about porn I found, scare quotes are used as an acknowledgement that lesbian sex scenes produced for the consumption of hetero men is so obviously just that, and not particularly attractive to actual lesbians.
