I'd be happier if I knew for sure that it came from atheist sources rather than red-necked racist islamophobes. It would reassure me if there was a neighbouring sign by the same group titled "Your Bible, the Good Book?", full of some of the nastier quotes about bears, prophets and little children...

What's the difference? If it's accurate, it's accurate, isn't it? Is it better if it came from an atheist?JimC wrote:I'd be happier if I knew for sure that it came from atheist sources rather than red-necked racist islamophobes. And atheists can be Islamophobes, too, I suppose.- as if that's even a thing.

There is a significant difference - if muslims feel that they are being singled out, that bad aspects of other religions are not being equally targeted (which as atheists I hope we all do), then they have a legitimate grievance. If they see christians being given an equally good kicking, then at least they'll know they're not being targeted in a discriminatory way...Forty Two wrote:What's the difference? I know what you mean, but they will certainly be affected by it. If they saw that it was part of a message being deliberately disrespectful to all religions, then I am not too concerned. But the reality is that it is probably purely an anti-muslim thing, possibly even inspired by fundamentalist christians...Brian Peacock wrote:I don't think its intended to speak to Muslims.
