French Presidential Election April, 2017

Post by Forty Two » Mon Nov 28, 2016 2:46 pm

Francois Fillon looks to be in a good position to win on April 23, 2017.

So, now that Trump is in the hot seat in the US for the next 4 years, beginning in January, it's time to focus our attention to the warts, trials and tribulations of the civilized world.

France is one that has elections coming up - in April, 2017.

Here is a wikipedia page for opinion polling -- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opinion_p ... tion,_2017

The sexists appear to be making sure that France doesn't elect a female President. The patriarchy, white male oppressors, and internalized misogyny of the French baguettes of deplorables is definitely working against Marine LePen.

The thing that was interesting in the class was every time the professor said ‘Al Qaeda’ his shoulders went up, But you know, it is that you don’t say ‘America’ with an intensity, you don’t say ‘England’ with the intensity. You don’t say ‘the army’ with the intensity,” she continued. “... But you say these names [Al Qaeda] because you want that word to carry weight. You want it to be something.” - Ilhan Omar

He has good chances indeed, he does not bear as much fascist stigma as Le Pen, and is actually enough of a catho fascist that he should be able to steal votes from her.
and it has nothing to do with being sexist, it has to do with women who want to run being unfit. The only one I know with the shoulders for the job won't run.

Whatever resources, and/or links, which you can bring to elucidate us on the issues, polls, scandals, and interesting developments of the French election would be most appreciated.

Oh, no. Failing to vote for a woman is misogyny. Well, at least it is over here. :D

No resources or links per se, I mainly work from general information, and whatever internet resources I might consult on the subject are French language, of course.

I rather liked fillon, he has a repute for honesty and for not being so corrupt as others politicos are, but then... I discovered his program... slashing savagely the number of civil servants, and into health expenses (this touches me personally), and raising VAT (which touches mostly those of modest means like me, because they have to spend most or all of their earnings) so he can lift taxes from the wealthy (in the deluded or mendacious intent of having them drip their fortune into the economy)... I don't want to see that guy in power anymore than I want the Le Pen witch.
