Christie was not corrupt. It was Trumps son-in-law's father that was corrupt and prosecuted by Christie and got 2 years prison.

Peter, and the most convincing bit was asking 'who would profit from legalized weed', along with 'who is funding the push to legalize weed'. I don't know the answers, but they are interesting questions.

You really think there'll be another election? After four years of Trump and a dozen self-inflicted mega-crisis he'll declare a state of emergency and that'll be that. :tea:

That headline is from yesterday (Wednesday), but . . .
Trump aides originally told reporters that Pence ordered the removal of all lobbyists from the team. That was news to the lobbyists on the transition, which, as of Wednesday, had not been asked to leave.

Given the tendency to spew misinformation that characterizes those around Trump (following his lead, I guess), I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for the lobbyists to be kicked out.

Good thing he has no Foundation. Now we can just assume all the speech fees are bribes and future lobbying payments.
WASHINGTON — It was a golden year for Rudolph W. Giuliani, a mad dash that would take him to 11 countries on four continents, and by the time 2006 was done, earn him $16 million — a princely sum compared with the $7,000 he claimed to have in 2001, when he went through a divorce.

With salaries from a law firm and a consulting firm, and most of all $10 million from 108 speeches he delivered to audiences around the world, the lucrative year of 2006 will now, along with the rest of Mr. Giuliani’s career after his tenure as New York’s mayor, be getting a new round of scrutiny if he is nominated as secretary of state by President-elect Donald J. Trump.

The blitz of activity by Mr. Giuliani in 2006 — speaking to Wall Street banks; oil, gold mining and pharmaceutical companies; and investor groups in Japan and Singapore — is public because the next year, he began a campaign for president and had to file a financial disclosure form.

But that public ledger offers the most detailed look at just how Mr. Giuliani managed to become so wealthy after he left office, with assets worth tens of millions of dollars, including homes he now owns in Palm Beach, Fla., the Hamptons and New York City.

Drain the Swamp? Mike McKenna, Head of Trump Energy Team, Began Lobbying Career with Ethics Scandal

http://www.desmogblog.com/
Mike McKenna, named to head the U.S. Department of Energy transition team for President-Elect Donald Trump, began his lobbying career in the aftermath of an ethics scandal in Virginia.

Before resigning from the administration of Virginia's then-Governor George Allen in 1997, McKenna was implicated in the authorship and distribution of what the Associated Press called a “dirty tricks” memo written in response to a report published by the Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission (JLARC), which had critiqued the Department of Environmental Quality for which McKenna had then served as policy director and spokesman.

McKenna now works as a lobbyist for a firm he founded named MWR Strategies.
