The man suspected of killing Labour MP Jo Cox confessed to feeling ‘socially isolated and disconnected from society’ as a result of long-term mental illness, it emerged last night.
Friends said Mair had never shown any interest in politics or the EU referendum.
Duane St Louis, age 41, the suspect’s half-brother, said Mair had 'never expressed any views about Britain, or politics or racist tendencies'.
He said: 'I’m mixed race and I’m his half-brother, we got on well.

Sounds like he was just crazy and not politically motivated.

Possibly meds if they've been changed recently. Some anti-depressants have been linked with gun related incidents in the US. The community level monitoring and care system has been decimated in the health cuts. So any deterioration can easily be overlooked.

Indeed. Nobody in their right mind would do something like this, but that doesn't mean they're absolved of responsibility for their actions, that they didn't act with deliberate intent, or that they didn't know what they were doing.
