Canada is fucked and it is their own fault. They elected a Tumblrena Prime Minister who promotes people to his cabinet just because of 'diversity' and it is the 'current year' so fuck merit then. I will give them the fact that oil prices are out of their control but they have fuck all to replace it with. The Canadian dollar is tanking and still they have nothing to export. I still don't understand why idiots think a lefty/liberal government will help the economy. The NDP party is now being called the 'No Due Process party'. Because they are feminists/SJW retards, Why did Canadians ever think this was a good idea, have they drunk the kool aid or something?

If they are anything like Australia, their years of conservative rule with their mass handouts to the oil/coal industry and attacks on alternative industries, have given them a single pronged economy. Blame neoliberalism and its gross nepotism and corruption.

I'll let Macdoc handle this but you clearly know little about Canadian politics and the bias of one of two national newspapers, both of which supported the previous right wing government and verged in Fox-like "spin" during the last election.
