A new armed republican group has vowed to “execute” criminals in west and north Belfast.

In a chilling statement, released to the Andersonstown News, the as-yet unnamed group says it is ready to kill individuals involved in criminality.

This is the problem with the vigilante mentality. Hollywood glamorises those assholes, by making them seem to be noble individuals seeking justice. But the truth is that most vigilantes only seek their own warped version of 'justice', and murder people who have committed acts that are only crimes in the eyes of the bastards who murder them.

In this you are absolutely correct. The actions suggested are indeed unlawful "vigilante justice." Of course what we all know is that you define any law-abiding citizen who dares to exercise their constitutional right to keep and bear arms in public for personal defense as "vigilantes," which of course is an outright lie.

But, those who seek vengence or seek to administer "justice" to criminals instead of bringing them before a judge and jury are indeed criminal "vigilantes." In that we agree.
