It could. Now all you have to do is prove it. So far you (and everybody else in the AGW religious camp) has failed to do so. It's all speculation and computer models that don't actually model the climate at all.
It's just as likely at this point that the increase in rainfall is an indicator of the beginning of a new period of glaciation.

As usual journalists forget that the eastern coast isn't Australia, not all of it anyway. It's been nice and cool, mostly, over here in the west.
