You'd think they would make some kind of effort to keep rusty leaky Third World shitbuckets full of 6oil at a safe distance from some tiny rocks out in the middle of the South Pacific that happen to be a cherished World Heritage Site, but I guess that's just a little goddamn too much to ask...

Great job on that oil boom, guys. Let me guess: It's all you had? :{D

My astonishment is due to Scump creating a thread without any mention of the inevitable and imminent destruction of humankind.
I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein’s brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops. - Stephen J. Gould

But...there's no oil slick. Did anyone actually read the story?
"A philosopher is a blind man in a dark room looking for a black cat that isn't there. A theologian is the man who finds it." ~ H. L. Mencken

"We ain't a sharp species. We kill each other over arguments about what happens when you die, then fail to see the fucking irony in that."

"It is useless for the sheep to pass resolutions in favor of vegetarianism while the wolf remains of a different opinion."

Not my concern with what you do on a tiny planet. Bio-diversity hotspots are a universal concern, however. Something bad is gonna be instigated by the aliens who run this joint over this. Don't know what - you can't outguess a superior intelligence. (twice so when it loses it's rag)
