I'd like to see Obama nominate him as the next Treasury Secretary or chairman of the Fed.

Friend,
I'm about to go speak to the crowd here in Chicago, but I wanted to thank you first.
I want you to know that this wasn't fate, and it wasn't an accident. You made this happen.
You organized yourselves block by block. You took ownership of this campaign five and ten dollars at a time. And when it wasn't easy, you pressed forward.
I will spend the rest of my presidency honoring your support and doing what I can to finish what we started.
But I want you to take real pride, as I do, in how we got the chance in the first place.
Today is the clearest proof yet that against the odds, ordinary Americans can overcome powerful interests.
There's a lot more work to do.
But for right now: Thank you.
Barack

Or, the Democrats could push for a Constitutional Amendment repealing the 22nd Amendment. It's an antidemocratic amendment anyway, eh?

I know these charges started back in August, but were basically ignored. I am volunteering my time and my money (few dollars that I have) to make sure Romney gets prosecuted for profiteering from auto bail out. I want to see him squirm and hopefully in prison.UAW Files Charges Against Romney

If it's an "ethics" issue, then it's not criminal. There won't be any prison. Further, it's just a UAW allegation at this point, and they can be trusted as far as you can throw them.kiki5711 wrote:I know these charges started back in August, but were basically ignored. The dust hasn't even settled at the recently cleared-our Romney headquarters, but Marco Rubio is apparently going to Iowa to start working on his 2016 campaign.

and THAT is a major issue with governance around the world except perhaps for China. The dust hasn't even settled at the recently cleared-our Romney headquarters, but Marco Rubio is apparently going to Iowa to start working on his 2016 campaign.
Very little long term view beyond the next election. ( or the next quarterly report in the case of short sighted corporations ).
We have a very prosperous city in Mississauga with a strong mayor voted by her peers second best in the world.
She has been elected each year for 34 years now and is in her 90s ( she still skates every day but dropped the hockey games a few years back ).
She has built it from a sleepy suburb to a population of a million plus with superb infrastructure.
She has "tenure" - she gets voted in within 5 minutes each vote cycle tho a bit less, merely 74% last time due to a minor scandal.
Without time to see long term projects to fruition governance becomes problematic and affected in an unhealthy manner by the looming "next election".
There is balance needed between election oversight by the populace to keep politicians honest versus time to do a job properly.
Not sure where that balance arises. Can you imagine any long term national project getting a new set of masters every few years. Chaos.
Could China have "caught up" with elections occurring over the last 30 years and a new mix of controllers each time????
Don't know how to get there but this constant electioning is getting wearisome and that was noted in some of the discussion.....notably with one teary 4 year old.

I don't give a shit. The mere exposure and attempt of the petition, should raise his blood pressure up enough to end up in EMERGENCY, where he suggest everyone without insurance should go!!!Coito ergo sum wrote:If it's an "ethics" issue, then it's not criminal.
