Said Peter...what you're requesting just isn't my bag
Said Daemon, who's sorry too, but y'see we didn't have no choice
And our hands they are many and we'd be of one voice
We've come all the way from Wigan to get up and state
Our case for survival before it's too late

Each one was a well known performer
Butler and Everett had 4 hits together, this one the biggest

Not exactly a one hit wonder for another reason. The song is a cover. Originally written in 1956 it made it into the pop charts on several occasions, most notably when Madonna released a version of it. Among the better known covers, of which there are more than two dozen, are those of Elvis Presley, Bette Midler, Suzy Quattro, the Jam, Peggy Lee, Beyoncé and Rita Coolidge.

The McCoys (Hang on Sloopy) also did Fever. The McCoys lead guitarist was Richard Zehringer, who changed his name to Rick Derringer. Derringer's biggest hit was Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo, and he played for many years with both Johnny and Edgar Winter.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.
