Where's Nuerosis, Opeth, Mastodon, TOOL, The Dillinger Escape Plan, ... is metal even a thing to these people?

Albums ain’t what they used to be. For big groups they were an event - something special, occasionally with a theme.

Nowadays they just seem to trickle out one track at a time - presumably to maximise the income they can get.

Had a listen through some of the albums from artists I've never heard of. Cold Vein by Cannibal Ox is amazing.

Yeah. I think Cannibal Ox are fab - like Fingathing with attitude. I've got the Burial on CD, which I was surprised to see on the list because I thought I was the only person in the land who like it - never heard on the radio or see it mentioned. mentioned in the press. I'm glad to see both the PJ Harvey's on the list - she's a real rock goddess - and the J Dilla and Janelle Monáe should be way further up the list.

Biggest disappointments to me: no Muse, no Hot Chip, no Squarepusher, no Alabama Shakes, and no fucking Jazz!
