Romantic nonsense. The Blues hadn't gone anywhere, it was in rude health. All the British revival did was open up a new market.

Got the white kids into it. The Stones did it for me, back in the 4th grade, got into Yardbirds through them.

What's more, nobody was as successful spreading the blues to the European bubblegum crowd as the Rolling Stones. Some of their early hits may as well have been cut in Detroit's blues studios and venues.

The Stones got me into Rock, but I really tuned into the Blues when I saw Furry Lewis back in the '70's. He was old and not real focused, but there was a point in the show when he caught fire, and that's all it took.

I love Chamipon Jack. I've got an album called "Blues at Montreau". Champion Jack, KIng Curtis, and Cornell Dupree did an unrehearsed show in '71 at the Montreaux Blues Festival, they blew the doors off.
