Said Peter...what you're requesting just isn't my bag
Said Daemon, who's sorry too, but y'see we didn't have no choice
And our hands they are many and we'd be of one voice
We've come all the way from Wigan to get up and state
Our case for survival before it's too late

Turn stone to bread, said Daemon Duncetan
Turn stone to bread right away...

Beach Boys in Danish

it's a song about a eartworm Kurt and other things

Jeg kender en-dianer
Der bor paa oesterbro
Og der er fler' end du aner
Og de gaar rundt i sko
Ikke i mokkasiner
Som man skulle tro
Nej de gr rundt og ligner
Folk paa oesterbro
Men spr du en-dianer
Saa sir han: I don't care, man
Jeg er den sidste amerikaner
Hoer nu bare her
De kommer naer
Ka' I s la' vr'

OR
See that you get going and take the goat with you
And cunning foot and earthworm Kurt
Og listende fod og regnormen Kurt

They dance a rain dance, it goes like clockwork

It looks down, and it continues
Det ser ned, og det blir ved

I get wet, and buy a bd

A Noah's ark, in the middle of a park
En Noahs ark, midt i en park

Goodbye and thank you, it's strong tobacco
Farvel og tak, det' staerk tobak

Image

I have the hit collection, my wife has the entire output. The CD also has..

Life's Sausage (aka Ballad of John and Yoko)

INCLUDING
The lights are turned on in Tokyo, Paris closes the shutters

But over in Thailand, there stands a roadman

And puts life at stake

He is digging sewers

And suddenly he falls in
...
..
The sausage of life is spiced
Livets pølse er speget

Add some jam.
Kom lidt syltetøj på.
The sausage of life is spiced
Livets pølse er speget

SING ALONG

I watched nearly the whole thing. I only understood about 60% of it, but I got some bits 2 minutes at a time completely. I would understand about 80% in Swedish.

Bundesen sometime around 2010 still a charismatic performer at 60. He was out of the band 4 years and the music people labeled the new Bundesen-less Shu Bi Dua as the "castrati" version. None of the band could sing at his low range.

somewhat autobiographical lyrics

Who do you think you are before you become
Hvem mon man er før man bli'r til

A shooting star - a puzzle
Et stjerneskud - et puslespil

A cod - a carrot
En tanketorsk - en gulerod

One must for the fa'en have been no'ed
Man må for fa'en ha' været no'ed
Mother's bosom was red and white
Moders barm var rød og hvid

To my father she said: slip
Til min far sagde hun: glid

We were a huge bunch of kids
Vi var en kæmpe børneflok

And there was never enough money
Og der var aldrig penge nok
Eight years then I was ready
Otte år så var jeg klar

To go to the coffee shop
Til at gå på kaffebar

My back looked like striped pork
Min ryg så ud som strivret flæsk

For today's dish was dry beatings
For dagens ret var tørre tæsk

I grew - and went nuts
Jeg voksed - og koksed

I found a place in the sun
Jeg fandt en plads i solen

In school, I learned to write you in capital letters
But I could never become anything
Men jeg ku' aldrig bli' til no'ed

Despite my large vocabulary
Trods mit store ordforråd

Standing in line on the path of life
Stod i kø på livets vej

While others overtook me
Mens andre overhalede mig
I grew - and coked
Jeg voksed - og koksed

I found my place in the shade
Jeg fandt min plads i skyggen

With your back to the wall
Med ryggen op mod muren

Why I was born
Hvorfor blev jeg født
And what happens when you go away

When life's shirt gets too short
Når livets skjorte bli'r for kort

How is it the common thread
Hvor mon den er den røde tråd

One must "for fan"(the devil, damn it) become something
Man må for fa'en da blive til no'ed

The phrase about the shirt got incorporated into Danish culture: life is like a child's shirt, short and shitty.

Got into a debate with a Ratz on FB about Genesis. He claimed Lamb is the best album. But it has no Supper's Ready! Actually my favorite is Selling England By The Pound

Favorite line:
Feel your body melt
Mum to mud to mad to dad
Dad diddley office, Dad diddley office
You're all full of ball
Dad to dam to dumb to mum
**Mum diddley washing, Mum diddley washing**
You're all full of ball

I think Zappa was having trouble with sewers and then plumbers. Rock trivia: name the Dylan imitator in the song. Complete with harmonica! As a reward we will post a cool video of him.
