I adore the Tuvan throat style. There's a great 1999 documentary called "Genghis Blues" about the blind US blues musician Paul Pena who, after discovering the music via shortwave radio, visited Tuva to enter the national championship.

Praise the internet! It's on YouTube, of course...

Why music sucks now. Hidden pop factories exposed, for fans under 30. Music gets to "hook" in first 20 seconds.

If you think modern pop music is bad then you're listening to the wrong kind of pop music.

That is really true. Thank goodness I was a kid of the '60's. This not only happening in music. The film industry is going the same way as is television. This great "streaming" thing is rubbish. The same rubbish is rehashed continuously. When the day comes (and it is not so far away) that actors are no longer required then the perfect synthesizer for films will have been made and then floodgates will have opened. Hopefully some sane person will have pulled the plug out long before then.

But there is scientific proof that it is rubbish and has been for 20 years.

I think the criteria have been skewed in favour of the past. Music isn't about algorithms, it's about experience. To assume that one person's (or group of people's) experience describes or defines the nature or standard of the experience of everyone is, well, basically, snobbishness.

While I partially agree with you. The pop music of the day is rubbish as proven in that video. If Bieber can make it any git can. The guy is totally devoid of talent like so many others. Without their studios they would be worthless.
