Mumford and Sons popularity?

I first witnessed the UB40 of folk music quite by accident, who seemed to be headlining Glastonbury, quite by accident. Now I do understand there has been a rise in popularity of folkish sounding music, Bon Iver and The Fleet Foxes come to mind, but they are both American and actually tuneful. Mumford sounds almost exactly like my mothers old dog did when it used to delightedly gnaw on a bone and the band sound as if they are falling downstairs with their instruments in tow.

I listened to them, thought... how?

I asked my good lady, she told me to fuck off, wisely, but then was lured in by just how impressively shit they were. Between us we have dozens if not hundreds of people "do you like Mumford and Sons" and every one of them as protested even being asked the question. From kids through to grandparents, the hip and the tragically cool and we have found, statistically speaking, Mumford and Sons are objectively shit.

Still they headlined Glastonbury. So aback to the original question, who the fuck is supporting this goddawful band. I'd rather that Black Day-Glo Drag Queen Nicky the Minge was on yelping that thing about bees.

Well in short. I found them dull and insipid and they plagued the eighties like a malingering flu. I cannot imagine them ever going into the recording studio after "signing off" and ever saying anything more about their own music that "yeah, that'll do." To me, they were a faux-reggae band that turned everything they touched into pub muzak and they should have known better.
