Said Peter...what you're requesting just isn't my bag
Said Daemon, who's sorry too, but y'see we didn't have no choice
And our hands they are many and we'd be of one voice
We've come all the way from Wigan to get up and state
Our case for survival before it's too late

Turn stone to bread, said Daemon Duncetan
Turn stone to bread right away...

Some outtakes are trickling in to Youtube

Take 19 sounds like it could have been captured at a live concert where they were playing a prerecorded set for the audience.

According to the notes on the new release on Spotify they wanted the White Album to sound like live music. So they rehearsed them as 'live'. The new release includes these rehearsals, which personally I think is a mistake. Interesting but never meant for the public.

Many of the Escher demos were on Anthology 3 already. People have taken a liking to the While My Guitar...demo with George and Paul (pump organ) acoustic demo. It was orchestrated with strings to the Love mashup album. Kind of wrong to me, all of Love.

Classic rock albums are being continuously ruined by bonus tracks and lives tracks, then the music industry wonders why the album format is in decline.

The music industry does not wonder why the album format is in decline. It has switched to marketing tracks via streaming and downloading some time ago. Vinyl and CD based products are becoming less relevant the more profit it makes via the internet.

While driving yesterday I listened to a favourite old album from start to finish for the first time in many, many years. No skipping on the overplayed big hits or the lesser songs I didn't usually enjoy and the experience was exceptionally satisfying - the album as a whole felt crafted, polished, almost moulded, a perfect capsule of it's time. Just as the last song faded out and I was feeling all enchanted an instrumental "bonus" of one of the tracks kicked in, and it kind of broke the spell.

Good stuff! I mostly listen to one album at a time and if I can at one sitting. Not always possible. Recently I listened to the whole uk release history of the Beatles, despite kind of having discarded the first few a long time ago. Listened mostly when driving. It was a reminder of how astonishing a phenomenon they were.

I found myself thinking of the poor buggers of today, trying to get a foothold with X number of downloads for that breakthrough song on ITunes or Spotify. Hard to see a talent like the Beatles or anyone else of that ilk doing so. Still, times change. Though as one gets older and grumpier one knows for sure, not necessarily for the better.

Some albums you just have to listen to the whole thing. Any Pink Floyd, for example. I've never just cued up "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun".
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Crossfade for a minute or two with any seventies classic rock and no issue. :?
