Good thing they put the odd note in the beginning, hanging in there. "Pick up" as the guy says.

My senior class with the Beatles, in a UK cultural and news setting, continues next week. The author of the lectures (no music in the film!) seems to be some king of near academic, and completely ignores the fan type of material, such as the recording sessions. Other than one mention of an Abbey Road ssession 1965.

If you bought the course (we see it in Zoom), you got some extras, clips of live footage, still no complete songs.

I've read every worth while Beatles book other than one, which has the Beatles in the UK on tour in movie theater size venues. Not sure if it worth it, but "has funny lines from Lennon."

Writing songs

and then a much more painfully detailed analysis

My brain has had most of this song memorized since I was 13. I know the bass parts I know the drum parts. The bass part is at 4 minutes.
The viola and guitar are on the same track.

The Beatles

Paul McCartney – double-tracked lead vocal, backing vocal, piano (multiple times) , bass, bongos, conga
John Lennon – backing vocal, lead guitar, Hammond organ
George Harrison – backing vocal, lead guitar
Ringo Starr – drums, maracas, tambourine, backing vocal (over coda)[20]
Additional musicians and production

Kenneth Essex – viola
Leo Birnbaum – viola

Great name for band. Vocals a tiny bit rough.

I liked all the Lennon demos. He gets a of feel into a simpe acoustic guitar demo. But it's not worth over 100 just for the demo.

The Beatles connect with me not just with the first records I bought but the fact that when I first heard a song maybe 65 I did not know English and by 69 I was able to sort a song first time hearing it.

Last day of 3 Beatles recording. The bass track by Lennon was crap so McCartney replaced it. Lennon was never coming back. Still not a memorable bass line, kind of a slow dragging song for that.
