Jesus the one there got really fat
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

Brilliant!

But, about 2/3rds of the way in, I glanced to the right, and Wumbo's avatar was singing the lead vocals AND a couple of the harmony lines from the choir! Scaaaary shit!

Should have kept her and her eye-mouths locked in the attic where she belongs...

My family watched the show last night, but I didn't get to see this because I had to go deal with Sprog.

Nice to have an excuse to listen all the way through.

I've always liked Heart.

It is funny, though, to compare the footage of the Obamas watching this versus the performances for Buddy Guy.
Led Zeppelin is sorta white people music.
Not that I think it ought to be-- but it does seem to work out that way.

Oh-- here's a clip of the whole thing. But you can skip to Beth Hart and Beck (halfway through-- can't find time), because they are just amazing.

LZ were great translators of black music for white folks. And the younger black folks now that soul is dead.

Heart also does a decent Battle of Evermore.
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

...and quite odd, given Zep's direct musical inspiration, which is largely African American blues, and pretty hardcore old school stuff too.

Now that I would like to hear. I didn't watch much of Wumbo's vid because Stairway bores me. It's a great song but so overplayed. Plus it's "wedding music" according to Plant. He won't sing it anymore and I can't say I blame him. When I started to watch Wumbo's vid I thought, Wow, Heart has still got it. I didn't even know they were still active. But they seem to be in top form. It's just too bad they're playing such a boring song. I love the mandolin in Battle of Evermore. And, you know what? I just listened to it on youtube to refresh my memory. And it sounds like a Heart song  Or at least, it sounds like a song very well suited for Heart to sing, and to play on their strengths.
