http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3_(Violent_Femmes_album)
Finland 70s
http://wigwam.stc.cx/

Wigwam might turn up for a reunion gig, YP no. Tolonen, a Clapton level guitarist had too much weed, stabbed his drug dealer girl friend and sings hymns at the piano. He never sang in his rock career.

Always had a weakness for VAST
Don't know if they're not so well known or not

Re: Your favorite not so well known bands
I'm wild just like a rock, a stone, a tree
And I'm free, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I flow, just like a brook, a stream, the rain
And I fly, just like a bird up in the sky
And I'll surely die, just like a flower plucked
And dragged away and thrown away
And then one day it turns to clay
It blows away, it finds a ray, it finds its way
And there it lays until the rain and sun
Then I breathe, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I grow, just like a baby breastfeeding
And it's beautiful, that's life

And I'm free, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I flow, just like a brook, a stream, the rain
And I fly, just like a bird up in the sky
And I'll surely die, just like a flower plucked
And dragged away and thrown away
And then one day it turns to clay
It blows away, it finds a ray, it finds its way
And there it lays until the rain and sun
Then I breathe, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I grow, just like a baby breastfeeding
And it's beautiful, that's life

Speaking of, Actual Tigers (often compared to Wilco) were a great group.

Undeclinable Ambuscade. A band from Den Bosch, not far from where I was born. I've been to practically every concert they gave for 6-7 years.

Not in my circle of friends. The only other people I know who listen to them are my brother, his wife and a couple of their friends.Bella Fortuna wrote:Wilco's a very well-known band.

Will play the videos.
But I had in mind bubbling under bands that had regional fans, fanatics!, but no national or international fame. Every once in a while John Peel would find a US band nobody heard of.

Original guitarist of Dr Feelgood, itself hardly known in US. A sort of Jimi Hendrix of rhythm guitarists
