fuck serj tankian, he's a fucking yoko. i think his shit sucks without system. ......IMHO of course.

It was sad he left SOAD, but people tend to go their own way when creative differences happen - they are individuals after all, not mutually dependent symbionts. I find the political commentary even more poignant than SOAD ever was in his solo work - so no it doesn't have the awesome back tracks, or scream-o boy, but it definitely makes you think more. If you're inclined to think that is. :hehe:

i havent read in to serj's political opinions. i was more so commenting on the quality of the music itself. i like the way he uses a lot of middle eastern originated scales in his vocal harmonies. i guess its all subjective though.

and yes i do quite a lot of thinking actually, im sorry if it doesnt translate into my crass, opinionated music comments ;) .

So do I, and he still does that. :?

He is Armenian after all (wasn't almost everyone in SOAD?)

i guess its all subjective though.
What isn't?

I didn't imply, or mean to imply, you didn't. I was just saying he has more poignant things to say in his solo work than SOAD ever did. In my opinion that makes up for the lack of the killer backing tracks and scream-o boy, and then some. But that's just my personal opinion.

Relative.. or maybe not. There are no laws of physics actually, only a couple extremely flawed and patched models.. but that's a subject for serious debate not a music thread. :)

Absolutely not. I was just amazed at the number of bedroom guitarist that have posted their versions of the Chopin on Youtube. Like... why?

Thanks Brian, but no I just think Chopin is overrated among pianists and I don't care for the of his style of compositions. Call me predictable or mainstream, but I'll take an intricately complex J.S. Bach composition over Chopin everytime. :)

See ya Brian.

I love new renditions of classics, especially when done on a different instrument.

Chopin is always better in studio, right there being played live in a small venue.

Bach, on the other hand, needs a room sized pipe organ.
