I love Arkansas Traveler.
Religion poisons everything
Maybe it was the "K.D. Lang" effect.
It was the short hair wot did it I'd say. You've got to love stereotypes.hadespussercats wrote:klr wrote:So did a lot of people apparently.tattuchu wrote:Oh. I always assumed she was a lesbian![]()

Maybe it was the "K.D. Lang" effect.kd lang is a lesbian, though. A big one, as they say.
Not sure what the effect is. Short hair? Folk rock women?
In Texas apparently not.klr wrote:Intelligence is obviously not cast-iron protection against being taken in by woo.

She sang some songs on her acoustic and tried to get me to part with a particularly nice embroidered Austrian duvet.
I refused to let it go and felt quite pressured but I only had it for a couple of weeks so was still enjoying it.

I guess people are just too weird to fathom when it comes down to it.
Singer Michelle Shocked's words about gays are coming back to haunt her.
By late Monday evening, hours after the spread of news about Michelle Shocked's anti-gay tirade at Yoshi's San Francisco, most venues on her national Short Sharp Shocked tour - including Los Angeles, Santa Cruz, Napa, Portland, Eugene, Boulder and Chicago - had canceled.
Mike Green, communications director of the Kings Place Music Foundation, under whose auspices she was to play in London, wrote to inquiring reader Lisa Woolf that they'd been in contact with her agent in Europe "and will speak with him as soon as possible, but it is very unlikely that she will tour again after what has happened. I must say that it's very unfortunate for all involved."
Cheryl Renee, who was said to have been Shocked's PR person, responded to an e-mail from The Chronicle saying that as of Feb. 25, "I am no longer working with Michelle Shocked. I cannot comment on her behalf and was not present at Yoshi's. ... I personally do not support the sentiment of what Michelle is being accused of saying."
