hope he is fully recovered. His voice is failing, but still.
We'll be there in mid July, had to drive out of town for this one.

Re: Concerts
I haven't been to a concert in a while. I should change that. Think the last one I went to was my friends band, No, in Bristol last year. Before that...Muse, more than 3 years ago.

Re: Concerts
Neither have I, and this is not likely to change while I live several hours away from the nearest decent venue. The last concert I went to was performed by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and featured music by JS Bach, Corelli and some other dead people.rachelbean wrote:I haven't been to a concert in a while.

Re: Concerts
It was a good show. Most of it, including stage banter, is in the NY baseball stadium video. But there was spontaneous banter and 3-4 songs from New album. Old man played 3 hours with no intermission. Baby boomer males made the mistake of drinking two beers and could be seen sneaking to toilets.

HALF THE BEATLES!
From back in the 60s when the 10 year old Tero, not speaking English yet, had the first Beatles 45 in hand (It was off A Hard Day's Night and the a side was I Should Have Known Better) 50 years later in Oct 2014 I will have seen the two surviving Beatles.
Ah, the b side is given here

Re: Concerts
I'd rather spend the money on a good pair of stereo headphones than going to a concert, unless it is a very small gathering - at present.

Re: Concerts
Ringo
Generally a good show, ran about 2 hrs. Where else are you going to hear Toto or Todd Rundgren songs anymore? Steve L. of Toto did reasonable Carlos Santana lines and many other styles of lead and slide. A bit too much of the "volcano" type (Zappa terminology!) if Steve had a minute to solo. Todd was fine. Ringo was fine singing. There were no bad singers but Ringo had the routine to get most of his right.
Singer from Mister Mister was on bass, but I only knew one song from him before.
