So My Bloody Valentine the band that make Tool and Guns and Roses loutput look prolific, have finally, after 21 years released their third album "mbv".
I was 21 when I bought their last album Loveless. It was half my lifetime ago. I had seen MBV several weeks before and they literally blew me away live. Not just that the performance was incredible, but immensely fucking loud. I remember they did this bit during a performance one of their singles which they sustained a single rhythm and tone for about 12 minutes (They call this section Holocaust) so I went out and bought this fucking thing titled Loveless.
It stuck with me in the way that Screamadelica, The Stone Roses and Definitely Maybe stuck with my peers. It was I decided then, music made specifically for people like me. I've never changed that opinion when I let people hear Loveless and they stare at me as if I'm playing them something that has been warped and ruined.
Anyway, quite out of the blue, they released their new album. I think it's fucking astonishing. If you remember them or like me LOVE them (not like me to get enthused is it?)
It's all on youtube.
Here's my favourite track so far....

Oh man, can't wait to tuck into this. I was lucky enough to see them a few years ago. I used to lay on the floor and listen to loveless on repeat

Was that the 2009 shows Rachel? I never knew about them, though I have heard they were overwhelming.

Yep, March 2009 I think. They sounded incredible. Definitely one of the best shows I've been to.

Heh last time I saw them was in '92 along with Blur and Dinosaur Jnr. They divided the audience. They're playing next month but good luck in getting tix for that.

The Pope was today knocked down at the start of Christmas mass by a woman who hopped over the barriers. The woman was said to be, "Mentally unstable."Trolldor wrote:Ahh cardinal Pell. He's like a monkey after a lobotomy and three lines of cocaine.
Which is probably why she went unnoticed among a crowd of Christians.
