Apparently the soundboard operator at AWH frequently cut a recording of the shows that played there, without asking permission. Zappa found out about this and demanded that his recordings be destroyed. Who knows what's sitting around on tape somewhere.

There is in fact too much tape and video. Nobody has the time to produce anything out of it as it will not bring in enough in sales.

That show has the only good version of Whipping Post. First time I heard what happened to the whipping post dude after "she took all my money".

The "Flo and Eddie" couple of years have a lot of detractors, but Fillmore East was the first Zappa Album I heard and owned and I have great love for that era and those two clowns. Though obviously he made his finest music directly after in '73 74.

Do any of you listen to "Cruising with Reuben and the Jets?" I think its also underated, but I love his perverse and very clever Doo-wop.
