Well, here's how it works: If the teacher has a gun and knows how to use it the only person who gets killed is the bad guy, whether he has a gun or a sword. Also, it's not a "Darth Vader" disguise, it's a WWII style Nazi helmet and a veil to conceal his face, and the school was a "multi-ethnic" school, which suggests that this was in fact a hate crime attack against non-Swedish immigrants.
