The biggest problem with handguns is that they are easily concealed. The cops in 'Murica must treat every encounter as perp armed and dangerous, and, due to little or no encounter training, people get shot for twitching or sneezing when confronted. That is why I have quit visiting the States although I live only 60 km from the border. I used to visit quite often in the 70s, but not any more after 9/11. I guess Minnesota and Wisconsin are pretty safe yet, but why take a chance.

I ain't a-skeert of nuthin, cuz I got guns.

Mrs. Lak has a gun, too, but I'm such a good husband I never have to worry about her shooting me. I just bring her chocolate and wine whenever she starts compulsively cleaning it.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

WASHINGTON—In the wake of this morning’s mass shooting in Alexandria, VA, every single American from across the political spectrum was reportedly able to cite the tragedy as irrefutable proof that they had been right about everything all along. “I’ve always said gun control puts our citizens at risk and makes them sitting ducks for any criminal who doesn’t play by the rules, and today, sadly, all my fears were confirmed,” said conservative Paula Frazier of Willoughby, OH, one of the hundreds of millions of Americans who said it gave them no pleasure at all to have their long-held beliefs so thoroughly validated. Added liberal Marc Watson of Savannah, GA: “When any unhinged maniac can just waltz into a store or gun show and buy a weapon specifically designed for mass casualties, this is unfortunately what happens—exactly like I’ve said from the very beginning.” At press time, every American was dejected at the thought of how soon they would be proven absolutely right once again.

Yes, folks. Repent, for the end is nigh upon us!

Maybe we really do need socialism. Socialized movies and entertainment, so the unfair compensation of mediocre actors can be more equitably distributed in a more socially just way. Other than three Bollywood actors (who are advantaged by the racist, caste culture of India), there is one black guy and no women or trans people in the top 20. Other than Tom Cruise, who's in the closet, there doesn't even appear to be a gay guy in there! That's clearly among the largest pay gaps in the world, in any industry. It's the racist, misogynistic, transphobic, capitalist patriarchy! And, it's been hiding there in plain sight all this time!

That's the marketplace for you. I looked up the 50 richest people in the world here: http://uk.businessinsider.com/50-riches ... ell-jobs-3

Only three of them were women - and all of those had 'inheritance' as the source of their wealth.

That's a social injustice right there, isn't it. Something ought to be done about it, to make sure that men make less and women get more. Do away with inheritance! It's unfair to have a system that encourages people to work hard and be inventive, talented and/or industrious, and then rather than spend the money, save it and give it one's children and grandchildren. That's not fair to the people who were not inventive, talented, industrious and/or hard working.

The Black Lives Matter folks have it right - if you're white, give your house to a black person. Change your will so black people inherit your money. http://dailycaller.com/2017/08/21/give- ... te-people/ Naturally, CNN and MSNBC spend no time examining those demands. You don't even see it reported. They'll spend days going over and over Black Lives Matter protests, but they won't accurately report the demands of the BLM movement. Gee, I wonder why...

Or perhaps we need better treatment for psychopathy - a condition many of the top 50 may well suffer from.

Many of the bottom 7.5 billion also suffer from psychopathy. Is there any reason to think psychopathy is disproportionately presented in the top 50? Is success an indication of psychopathy?

I have read that it can be. Here for example: https://www.psychologicalscience.org/ne ... opath.html

More a discussion than anything, however if you type 'psychopathy and success' into google you will find lots more.

Is there any reason to think that inbreeding has occurred in the top 50 paid actors?

I think he is probably referring to the 7.5 billion and of course for once he is right.
